Pastor of Children and Families
If you drive by Wynne Baptist Church, and you see a group of kids
playing in the field, you might notice that one of these children is taller
and lankier than his playmates. Upon closer examination, you will
realize that this “kid” is actually an adult! This is, in fact, Bro. Todd
Maino, Pastor of Children and Families. And yes…he is in the middle
of these children, getting dirty, and building relationships!
Bro. Todd came to WBC in April, 2014, from Mariana’s First Baptist
Church, where he served as Pastor for six years. While there, he
actively sought ways in which the people of the Arkansas Delta region
could be touched by Christ’s love. Bro Todd has worked (and still is)
with Arkansas State Baptist Convention, as he has taught in the ABSC
Delta Institute in Helena-West Helena. He previously served as
Associate Pastor/Children and Students at Forrest Hill Baptist Church
in Germantown, Tennessee. In addition, throughout his years of
ministry, Bro. Todd has assisted with/led many short-term mission trips.
He and Jennifer, his wife of twenty years, are the parents of Cayson, Griffin, Karis, Mylan and Addison. This very active family is already involved with church and school activities, while Jennifer works part-time as a Registered Nurse.
Q: What would you want people to know about your heart for ministry?
For you see, the passion of his heart involves ministry to Children. “I want to see children built into the men and women of God that He wants them to be. I want them to learn that God can and will use them NOW…not just later . They are not only special to God, but they are also essential participants to His purpose!” Additionally, Bro. Todd’s desire is to see families thrive by being healthy, Godly examples of the mercy and grace of God. “My heart is to see spouses be the husbands and wives God has ordained them to be. I want to see marriages becoming living testimonies to the character of God’s relationship with His people. I want to see marriages and families cultivated that are atypical to modern culture and to societal standards.”
Q: What are your desires for your personal ministry?
When asked about his personal ministry, Bro. Todd replies, “…(my personal ministry)…is dove-tailed to my family. While God has called me to build disciples in the church, God has first called me to build disciples through the parenting of my children. A significant purpose of my personal ministry is to lead them to discover and embrace their own.”
Q: What is an interesting and unknown fact about yourself?
As a child, I wrote a short story that came close to being published. I still have the personal, hand-written note from the publishing company. Sadly, The Incredible Non-Edible Hot Dog never made it to press.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
I enjoy time with my wife and children very much. Most “free time” is spent doing things together with them. Additionally, I enjoy running, geocaching, swimming in the ocean and lawn work.
Q: What is your favorite verse?
“I thank Him Who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He judged me faithful, appointing me to His service.” 1 Timothy 1:12
Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?
The most enjoyable thing about my job is that I get to spend a great deal of time with people who love Jesus. I never want to take for granted the pleasure and benefits of being in the company of fellow Believers!
Q: Jennifer: What would you want the church family to know about Todd?
He makes me laugh all the time, and he is a kid magnet!
